Ancelotti Calls Neymar Irreplaceable After Retirement

Carlo Ancelotti, the current coach of the Brazil national football team, has expressed the difficulty of replacing Neymar, who has announced his retirement from international football after the 2026 World Cup. Brazil was eliminated in the last 16 by Norway during the tournament.

Ancelotti emphasized Neymar's extraordinary talent, stating, "Neymar cannot be replaced because he was an extraordinary and unique talent." Neymar, who is 34 years old, holds the record as Brazil's all-time top scorer with 80 goals in 130 appearances and is one of only two players to score in four different World Cups for Brazil (2014, 2018, 2022, and 2026), alongside Pele. His participation in the 2026 World Cup was limited due to a knee injury, resulting in only two substitute appearances.

Neymar has reiterated his decision to retire from international football and hinted that his club career may also be nearing its end.
