Nollywood Star Alex Ekubo Passes Away at 40

Alex Ekubo, a prominent Nollywood actor, has died at the age of 40. His passing was confirmed via social media, where tributes flooded in from fans and colleagues, expressing their devastation over the loss.

Ekubo was born on April 10, 1986, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and was a native of Arochukwu, Abia State. He attended Federal Government College, Daura, and studied law at the University of Calabar.

Ekubo made his film debut in 2003 with a minor role and gained fame after finishing as the first runner-up in the 2011 Mr. Nigeria contest.

His breakout performance came in the 2012 blockbuster that earned him the Best Actor in a Supporting Role at the 2013 Best Nollywood Awards. He became a household name through the popular sitcom "Enjoi" and starred in various films from 2019 to 2023.

His sudden disappearance from the public eye raised concerns among fans, especially following his split from model Fancy Acholonu in 2021.
