Nigerian Christian Elders Seek Help Against Terrorism Amid US Airstrikes

The Northern Christian Elders in Nigeria, represented by NOSCEF, have called for assistance in combating terrorism after the US launched airstrikes against terrorists in Sokoto, Northwest Nigeria. The elders criticized the idea of foreign military intervention and emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to tackle the security crisis.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu confirmed ongoing security cooperation in the region. The US War Department conducted airstrikes against an ISIS-linked militant group on Christmas Day.

Concerns were raised about civilian protection and human rights during counter-terrorism operations.
