Daniel Daga Acquitted of Sexual Misconduct Charges

Daniel Daga, a former midfielder for the Nigerian national team, has been acquitted of sexual misconduct charges by a seven-member appeal panel in Norway. The court's decision, delivered on June 25-26, 2023, overturned an earlier ruling that found him guilty and sentenced him to six months in prison.

Throughout the legal proceedings, Daga maintained his innocence. His legal team initiated an appeal after the initial judgment, which was reviewed by the appeal court that unanimously ruled in his favor.

The acquittal means that all allegations, including rape and sexual misconduct, have been dismissed. Following the verdict, Mold FK, the Norwegian club Daga is associated with, has been informed of his return to the team.
