Ogunbote Blames Pitch Quality for Plateau United Loss

Gbenga Ogunbote, the head coach of Plateau United, explained the reasons behind his team's 1-0 defeat to Rivers United during a match held at Adokiy Amiesimaka Stadium in Port Harcourt. Ogunbote cited the poor quality of the pitch as a significant factor contributing to the loss, stating that it affected the team's performance and ability to play effectively.

He noted that the team failed to pay adequate attention to the game, which led to careless mistakes. Ogunbote also challenged the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) board to ensure that stadium pitches meet the necessary quality standards for hosting top-flight games.

He mentioned that the rain further disorganized the team's play, particularly in the first half, and expressed hope for improvement in future matches. Plateau United's next game is against Kun Khalifat FC, and Ogunbote emphasized the importance of securing points in the remaining four matches of the season, with two games at home and two away.
