Rangers Claim NPFL Top Spot with Win Over Abia Warriors

Enugu Rangers moved to the top of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) table after defeating Abia Warriors 3-1, accumulating 16 points from seven matches, one point ahead of second-placed Rivers United, who have 15 points. The victory reflects Rangers' strong form as they aim to maintain their lead.

Enyimba achieved a crucial 2-0 win over Plateau United at the Enyimba International Stadium in Aba, marking their second win of the season and helping them escape the relegation zone. They will face Katsina United next Sunday for their Matchday 8 fixture.

Meanwhile, Rivers United also secured a 2-0 victory over Ikorodu City. At the bottom of the table, Kun Khalifat lost 1-0 to Niger Tornadoes, remaining in last place with only one win in their last seven matches.

The NPFL plans to introduce Friday night fixtures starting with a match between Shooting Stars and Ranchers Bees on October 16, aiming to enhance fan engagement.
