NSC Orders Fresh Elections for Gymnastics, Judo, Shooting Federations

The National Sports Commission (NSC) has canceled the elections of Gymnastics, Judo, and Shooting Federations, ordering fresh polls on October 18 in Abuja. The decision was made due to the failure of the annulled elections to meet the inclusivity standards required in Nigeria's sports governance framework.

The NSC emphasized the need for full representation in federation boards, including zonal, athlete, technical, military, paramilitary, NAWIS, sponsor, and AFFAN representatives. The directive mandates zonal elections for Gymnastics and Judo Federations before the national polls.

The NSC Director General stressed the importance of inclusivity in sports administration and announced close monitoring of the upcoming elections.
