Uch Nworah, the Director of Media and Publicity for the City Boi Movement in the Southeast, clarified that Obi Cubana is still fully engaged in the group's activities and continues to provide guidance and consultation. The group dismissed rumors alleging that Obi Cubana stated that former Governor Peter Obi did not receive votes in the Southeast during the 2027 presidential election, labeling the claims as entirely false and baseless.

The City Boi Movement emphasized the importance of freedom of association in democracy and warned against vilifying individuals based on their political affiliations.
