Obi Launches Fashion Initiative to Empower African Youth

Obina Kwame Temple Obi, the convener of Fashion Fables Runway Africa (FFRA), announced the initiative at a press conference in Abuja. The FFRA aims to empower young Africans through fashion creativity, promoting African fabrics, sustainability, and talent development.

Obi emphasized that the event would transcend traditional runway shows by integrating arts, entertainment, and initiatives focused on inclusion and environmental sustainability. He stated that the platform would allow designers, models, and artists to narrate African stories through fashion.

The event is powered by 1% International, which supports young creatives in fashion and entertainment. Obi highlighted the inclusion of plus-size models and diverse talents, aiming to inspire hope and showcase African creativity.

The Pan-African nature of FFRA is expected to attract participants from across the continent, and Obi called for partnerships from individuals and organizations to support young creatives. The organizing team includes various directors and instructors dedicated to enhancing visibility for African talent.
