Obaigbena Celebrated at 67 for Media Contributions

On a recent occasion in Lagos, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori led a celebration honoring Nduka Obaigbena, the chairman and editor of ThisDay and Arise Group, on his 67th birthday and the 40th anniversary of ThisWeek magazine. Oborevwori commended Obaigbena for his visionary leadership that has transformed journalism in Nigeria and recognized him as an influential figure in the African media landscape.

He highlighted Obaigbena's unwavering commitment to promoting credible journalism over the decades. Sir Festus Ahon, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, described Obaigbena as a distinguished son of Delta State and an entrepreneur who has significantly impacted the media industry.

Former Ogun State Governor Aremo Olusegun Osoba and former Liberty Bank CEO Lawson Omokhodion also shared their experiences and praised Obaigbena's influence on the media landscape, emphasizing the importance of his contributions to press freedom and the advancement of the media industry in Nigeria.
