Ezekwesili Critiques Tinubu's Economic Achievements

In an interview with News Central TV, former Minister of Education Dr. Oby Ezekwesili evaluated the achievements of President Bola Tinubu's administration, stating that Nigerians have yet to experience the full impact of the government's economic reforms. She acknowledged progress in stabilizing the foreign exchange market through adherence to market principles but emphasized that this has not improved living conditions for ordinary Nigerians.

Ezekwesili pointed out that Nigeria remains plagued by widespread poverty and rising living costs. She criticized the government's handling of inflation, asserting that the recent spike was avoidable and resulted from poor policy management.

Furthermore, she identified low productivity as a significant constraint on economic growth and job creation. Ezekwesili also criticized the Federal Government's budgeting approach, highlighting issues with multiple budgets operating simultaneously and comparing Nigeria's fiscal management unfavorably to China's more streamlined budget execution process.

She called for better disclosure of the administration's performance records.
