Nasir El-Rufai Criticizes #OccupyNass Protest Led by Peter Obi Over Electoral Manipulation Claims

Former Kaduna Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, expressed his views on the #OccupyNass protest organized by former presidential candidate Peter Obi at the Nigerian National Assembly. El-Rufai alleged that the ruling party, All Progressives Congress (APC), was attempting to manipulate the electoral process for the 2023 general elections.

He claimed that without electoral manipulation, the APC would not win in 2023. El-Rufai criticized the APC for allegedly trying to stop real-time electronic transmission of election results, which he believed was aimed at rigging the elections.

The protest was a response to the Senate's refusal to assent to the Electoral Act Amendment Bill that proposed electronic transmission of results. El-Rufai's comments highlighted the ongoing political tensions in Nigeria ahead of the upcoming elections.
