Nigerian Athletes Shine at Lone Star Grand Prix in Texas

Favour Ofili, the 150m world record holder, and Ezekiel Nathaniel, the African 400m hurdles record holder, are set to represent Nigeria at the inaugural Lone Star Grand Prix in Texas on Saturday. This event is part of the USA Track and Field (USATF) tour and is classified as a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meet.

Ofili will compete in the women's 200m against a strong field that includes reigning Olympic champion Gabbi Thomas and world finalist Rhasidat Adeleke. Nathaniel will open his season in the men's 400m hurdles, facing notable competitors such as world finalist Caleb Dean and 2022 world bronze medalist Trevor Bassitt.

Other Nigerian athletes participating include Rosemari Chukwuma in the women's 100m and Ella Onojuvwevwo in the women's 400m, the latter looking to maintain her momentum after setting an African indoor record earlier this year.
