Samuel Ogazi Turns Professional After NCAA Success

Samuel Ogazi, a 20-year-old athlete from the University of Alabama, has officially announced his decision to turn professional, concluding a remarkable collegiate career. He is recognized as one of the greatest 400m runners in NCAA history, having established himself as the fourth fastest man ever to complete the event.

During his collegiate tenure, Ogazi achieved extraordinary milestones, including winning the NCAA outdoor championship with a time of 43.38 seconds, which shattered the NCAA record. Earlier in the year, he also claimed the NCAA indoor 400m title, setting an African indoor record of 44.57 seconds.

Throughout his collegiate career, he progressively lowered the Nigerian 400m record, achieving times of 44.02 seconds, 43.95 seconds, and 43.82 seconds, culminating in his historic 43.38 seconds.
