Ogun Councillors Back Tinubu, Support Abiodun's Senate Bid

On Wednesday, councillors from nine local government areas in Ogun East publicly declared their support for President Bola Tinubu's second-term bid and endorsed Governor Dapo Abiodun's aspiration for the senatorial seat in the 2027 elections. The declaration took place in Itoro Ijebu, led by Hon.

Akindel Faseyi, the chairman of the Ogun State Councillor Forum, and Babalola Emmanuel. They cited Abiodun's unmatched development strides and quality leadership as major reasons for their endorsement.

The councillors emphasized the transformative impact of Abiodun's administration on infrastructure, healthcare, economic development, and security in Ogun State. They believe that his experience in governance positions him well to represent Ogun East at the national assembly.

Faseyi noted the positive changes in leadership over the past seven years and the importance of continuing to serve at the federal level to attract democratic dividends. While Abiodun has not officially declared his intent to contest for the Ogun East senatorial seat, the councillors expressed readiness to mobilize support for his candidacy.
