Ogun LG Chairman and APC Chieftain Promote Poverty Reduction

On a Saturday event, Lanre Oyegbola, the chairman of Abeokuta North Local Government, and Ibrahim Quadri, an APC chieftain, called on Nigerians to engage in selfless acts to reduce poverty. Their remarks came during an empowerment program organized by Eniobank Foundation, which supported 150 traders and artisans with cash grants of N100,000 each.

Additionally, the foundation provided N50,000 bursaries and laptops to ten students with the best CGPA from tertiary institutions in the state. Oyegbola lamented that many people are not given opportunities, which leads to selfish behaviors that hinder democratic benefits from reaching the grassroots.

Quadri emphasized the importance of empowering women, artisans, and students, stating that such initiatives could significantly improve the country. He praised President Bola Tinubu for creating an enabling environment for business growth and urged people to intensify support for government efforts.

The program aimed to uplift 200 individuals, including students, and warned beneficiaries to use the funds wisely for business growth.
