Okonjo-Iweala Criticizes Global Dependence on U.S. Market Amid Trade Disruptions

Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), expressed concerns over the world's heavy dependence on the U.S. market during a CNN Global Perspectives Conference. She highlighted the negative impact of President Donald Trump's administration's tariffs, calling them the greatest disruptor of trade in 80 years.

Okonjo-Iweala stressed the importance of nations reducing their overreliance on the U.S. market and diversifying their trade partners, particularly criticizing the supply chain vulnerabilities exposed by the pandemic.
