His death was announced by Prince Ifeakanachukwu Emordi, who stated that Prince Ikechukwu passed away on May 30, 2026. The royal family of Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom in Delta State expressed profound sorrow, with the monarch, Prince Ikechukwu Okonjo, being described as a devoted husband, loving father, cherished brother, and dedicated uncle.
