Air Marshal Sunday Aneke Leads Investigation into NAF Crash

Recovery efforts are ongoing at the site of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) aircraft crash in Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, where parts of the aircraft remain buried in a swamp. Although some scraps have been recovered, the main body of the plane is still trapped.
The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, announced that a high-level investigation team will be formed, consisting of military and civilian safety experts, including representatives from the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and the Accident and Emergency Management Board. Aneke visited the crash site and directed the Superintendent of Safety and Evaluation to assemble this team to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
He urged the public to refrain from speculation while specialists work on the investigation. The Air Chief did not disclose the location of the panel or the participants expected to be involved, although Abuja was informally mentioned as a possible venue.
The Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, stated that the matter falls under the jurisdiction of the Air Force.
