Ondo Speaker Faces Impeachment Over Alleged Misconduct

The Ondo State House of Assembly Speaker, Olamide Oladiji, is facing an impeachment plot by lawmakers who accuse him of gross misconduct and misappropriation of assembly funds. The lawmakers staged a walkout in protest against the Deputy Governor, Aiyedatiwa's supplementary budget.

Oladiji is accused of rushing the passage of bills despite poor performance. Despite receiving a vote of confidence from 14 lawmakers, the impeachment plot continues.

The Speaker vows to continue performing his duties without political interference.
