Gunmen Attack ONELGA Security Office in Rivers State

On Saturday night, between 8:00 PM and 10:00 PM, gunmen attacked the office of the ONELGA Security Peace Advisory Committee (OSPAC) located on Erema Street in Omoku Town, Ogba Egbema Ndoni Local Government Area, Rivers State. The assailants, who drove two ash-colored vehicles, opened fire indiscriminately, resulting in injuries to one officer.

The attack caused panic among residents and passersby, who fled for safety. Godknow Nkem, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed the incident, stating that investigations are ongoing to identify the perpetrators and ensure justice.

No arrests have been made as of the time of the report. The attack occurred just eight months after the establishment of the OSPAC, which has been struggling to maintain security in the area.

Bless Agab, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, also confirmed that the police are actively investigating the incident.
