Atiku and Jonathan: Key to Stopping Tinubu in 2027

In a recent interview, Salihu Tanko Yakasai, a former media spokesman for Abdullahi Ganduje, the ex-national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), identified Atiku Abubakar and Goodluck Jonathan as the primary political figures capable of defeating Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election. Yakasai noted that the success of the opposition in the upcoming elections largely hinges on their ability to unite behind a single candidate.

He argued that Atiku Abubakar remains the strongest challenger, commanding significant support across the northern region, which could mobilize voters against Tinubu's administration. Yakasai also highlighted Jonathan's potential to disrupt APC's plans, as he could attract support from various political groups if he decides to run again.

He criticized the current administration for perceived neglect of the northern region, which has fostered dissatisfaction and resentment, thereby weakening APC's stronghold. Yakasai warned that without a united opposition, they would have little chance against Tinubu's rule in 2027.
