FG's Deal to Revive Delta Steel Company Lauded

Chief Sunny Onuesoke, Chairman of DAS Energy Services Ltd, commended the federal government's recent agreement with Premium Steel and Mines Limited (PSML) to revive the Delta Steel Company (DSC) located in Ovwian-Aladja, Delta State. This agreement, signed by the Ministry of Steel Development, includes a sub-lease and operations framework aimed at restoring the steel plant to full operation and enhancing Nigeria's steel industry.

Onuesoke stated that the revival of DSC could potentially create employment for approximately 25,000 individuals and stimulate economic activities throughout Delta State. He emphasized that the project would also foster opportunities for ancillary businesses, including trading and real estate, while contributing to infrastructure development.

Onuesoke expressed optimism that the revival would lead to the rehabilitation of the rail line connecting Ujevwu and Itakpe, facilitating the movement of steel materials. He noted that a successful revival could restore Delta State's status as a significant industrial hub and reduce crime by providing employment.
