Witness Reveals Horrific Kidnapping Conditions in Nigeria

In a court session led by Justice Salim Olasupo Ibrahim, a witness identified as AAA recounted the harrowing experience of victims kidnapped by armed men in Nigeria. The victims were moved through six locations during their 56-day captivity, forced to sleep on grass and deprived of basic needs.

The witness, testifying under the direction of Mr Rotimi Oyedepo, SAN, described how the kidnappers invaded schools on motorcycles, abducting students and teachers. The attackers, arriving on approximately 12 motorcycles, also used a Toyota car to transport some captives.

The kidnappers claimed they were holding the victims to negotiate the release of members of the Ansaru group, not for ransom. Disturbingly, two teachers were killed during the ordeal.

The conditions were dire, with victims sharing a single cup of dirty water and receiving minimal food. They were eventually rescued after a gun battle between security forces and the kidnappers.
