Galatasaray Players Offered €5M Bonus for Liverpool Clash

Ahead of the UEFA Champions League clash against Liverpool FC, Galatasaray players, including Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen, have been promised a €5 million bonus by the club's president, Dursun Özbek. This incentive aims to motivate the team to advance to the quarter-finals after securing a narrow 1-0 victory in the first leg.

Turkish journalist Ali Naci Kucuk reported that the bonus was discussed among the club leadership, emphasizing the financial benefits of progressing further in the tournament, where UEFA is set to award around €12 million in prize money for advancement. In the first leg, Osimhen played a crucial role, assisting Mario Lemina's goal, which was scored seven minutes before the end of the match.

The return leg is scheduled for March 18 at Anfield. Osimhen, visibly emotional during the match, received support from Galatasaray fans, who unveiled a special tifo in memory of his late mother.

He has been a standout performer for the club, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in nine Champions League appearances this season.
