Osimhen Joins Elite Scorers of the Decade

Victor Osimhen, a forward for the Super Eagles, has earned a place among the top international scorers of the current decade, ranking joint 14th with 27 goals since 2021, according to the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFH). This list includes iconic players such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, and Kylian Mbappé.

Osimhen's scoring pattern shows he struck five times in 2021, followed by tallies of three in 2022 and nine in 2023. He is currently Nigeria's second-highest goalscorer in history, having surpassed Yakubu Aiyegbeni and others, with only Rashidi Yekini ahead by two goals.

Osimhen made his international debut in 2017 and has scored 35 goals in 51 appearances. In club competitions, he finished as the joint fifth highest scorer worldwide with 46 goals, marking the highest single-year tally for an African player since 2019.
