Osun Governor Adeleke Resigns from PDP, Set to Announce New Party Soon

Governor Adeleke of Osun State has resigned from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) amidst the party's national crisis. He is expected to announce his new political party on December 13.

Adeleke's resignation letter was addressed to the chairman of his ward in Osun. His political intentions post-PDP exit are currently undisclosed.

Adeleke is among several governors defecting from the PDP, with plans to seek re-election in the 2026 Osun governorship election. Adebayo Olugbenga Adedamola emerged as the candidate for the 2026 election.
