Davido Questions INEC on Osun Election Result Delays

On Saturday, during the Osun State governorship election, Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, known as Davido, expressed concern over the delay in uploading election results to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV). At 2:33 p.m., he took to his X account to call for transparency and timely updates from INEC, stating, “What is the delay?

Nigerians deserve transparency and timely updates.” Davido encouraged voters to remain at their polling units until their results were uploaded and to ensure that the figures were recorded on the electronic EC8A result form. He advised voters to take photographs of their polling unit result sheets and share them via a WhatsApp number he provided.

Additionally, he suggested that if the camera on the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System device was malfunctioning, election officials could utilize the front camera. Davido is actively supporting his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking re-election as governor of Osun State under the Accord Party.
