Davido Questions Delay in Osun Election Results Upload

On Saturday, during the Osun State governorship election, Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, expressed concerns regarding the delay in uploading election results to the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV). At 2:33 p.m., he took to his X account to urge INEC for transparency and timely updates, stating, “Nigerians deserve transparency and timely updates.” Davido encouraged voters to stay at their polling units until their results were uploaded, emphasizing the importance of ensuring that the figures recorded at polling units were accurately entered on the electronic EC8A result form.

He advised voters to take photographs of their polling unit result sheets and share them via a WhatsApp number he provided. As of 3:54 p.m., only 266 results had been uploaded to the IReV portal, highlighting the ongoing issues with the election result transmission process.
