Soludo's Government Accuses Obi of Neglecting Water Workers

The Anambra State Government, under Governor Chukwuma Soludo, has accused former Governor Peter Obi of neglecting the Anambra Water Corporation, alleging that over 200 staff died during Obi's administration due to non-payment of entitlements. The government referred to Obi as "Anambra's Pharaoh" and questioned his assertion that the corporation was inactive, highlighting that funds were still allocated to it during his tenure.

The statement from the Anambra State New Media Office claimed that funds meant for the Water Corporation were diverted as loans to private contractors. The government challenged Obi's previous claims that the corporation was defunct before his arrival, noting that his predecessors, including Ngige, had managed to pay salaries and bills.

The statement concluded with a prayer for the deceased workers, emphasizing the need for Obi to address these allegations.
