Overseas Visits: It’s Time to Appoint Ambassadors – Senator Kalu Tells Tinubu

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has called on President Bola Tinubu to appoint ambassadors to represent Nigeria abroad. In a video message on his Facebook page, Kalu emphasized the importance of having envoys to maximize the country's gains in international engagements.

He highlighted the economic benefits of Tinubu's foreign trips and stressed the need for functional embassies in key regions. Kalu commended Tinubu's efforts in international engagement but urged him to appoint ambassadors to fully benefit from diplomatic and economic endeavors.

Noting that Tinubu has yet to appoint ambassadors since assuming office two years ago, Kalu pointed out the necessity for a fresh start in Nigeria's diplomatic representation. The delay in appointments was attributed to financial and economic challenges facing the administration by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar.
