Governor Oyebanji Commits to Education Investment in Ekiti

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji pledged ongoing investment in the education sector to bolster infrastructure, human capital development, and institutional capacity. Speaking at the combined convocation ceremony of Ekiti State College of Technology (EKSCOTECH) in Ijero-Ekiti, where 5,742 graduates received National Diploma and Higher National Diploma, he urged stakeholders to support educational advancements.

Represented by Secretary to the State Government, Prof Habibat Adubiaro, Oyebanji emphasized the importance of the institution's recent transition to a full-fledged polytechnic, which aims to enhance technical and vocational education access. He assured continued government backing for EKSCOTECH and other state-owned tertiary institutions in his second term.

Dr Femi Thomas, Chairman of the Governing Council, noted that the transformation was a result of efforts to stabilize and reposition the institution, which has now gained accreditation for additional programs from the National Board for Technical Education. He highlighted the need for increased government funding to support these developments.
