Oyedele Launches Advisory Committee for Economic Reforms

On July 14, 2026, Taiwo Oyedele, the Minister of State for Finance, inaugurated a Ministerial Advisory Committee (MAC) at the Federal Ministry of Finance headquarters in Abuja. The MAC, an independent body comprising distinguished economists and business leaders, aims to provide strategic advice to strengthen economic policy formulation and accelerate ongoing reforms.

Oyedele emphasized that the committee would not add bureaucratic layers but would serve as a platform for collaboration between the government and the private sector. The committee's work will focus on four broad areas: economic policy advisory, public financial management, economic coordination, and ensuring fiscal reforms deliver measurable benefits to businesses and households.

Oyedele noted the importance of translating complex economic issues into practical policy options to improve productivity and ease of doing business. The committee is expected to assess major reforms, identify emerging fiscal risks, and promote stronger public financial management.
