Ogun Residents Demand Action Against Insecurity Amid Abductions

Residents of Abeokuta, Ogun State, protested early in the morning, holding placards with messages demanding an end to insecurity after the abduction of 40 school children and seven teachers in Ogbomoso, Oyo State. The protest was in response to a recent incident where armed bandits raided three schools, resulting in the abduction of the children and teachers, including Mr. Michael Oyedokun, who was later gruesomely beheaded.

Pastor Juwon Owolabi spoke on behalf of the protesters, expressing the palpable fear among residents and urging the government to intensify efforts to protect citizens. He emphasized that insecurity affects everyone, regardless of their social status, and called for immediate action rather than mere negotiations.

Businessman Ayodeji Ojo and mother Precious Jonathan also voiced their concerns, highlighting the impact of insecurity on daily life and the urgent need for government intervention to ensure the safety of children and families.
