UN Envoy Urges Makinde to Apologize to Kidnap Victims

Ibrahim, a United Nations envoy, has called on Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde to show empathy and apologize to the victims of a recent kidnapping incident involving schoolchildren. Ibrahim highlighted that the United Nations does not interfere in the internal affairs of its member states and that domestic security incidents are primarily the responsibility of the government. He urged Governor Makinde to publicly express genuine sympathy and provide necessary support for the recovery of the affected children and teachers.

Ibrahim also appealed for additional financial support for the families impacted by the incident and emphasized that Nigerian compassion would lead to public support for initiatives aimed at improving the future of the victims. He called on state governments across the country to treat security as a collective responsibility and invest in measures to strengthen collaboration with security agencies to ensure schools remain safe learning environments for every Nigerian child.
