Pan African School Games Launches in Lagos with Prizes

The second edition of the Pan African School Games is set to commence at James Hope College, Lagos, from October 16 to 18. The event, which expects around 400 student-athletes, will feature competitions in athletics, swimming, and football across U-11, U-13, and U-15 age categories.
A brand-new school bus, sponsored by Mikano Changan Motors, will be one of the prizes. The competition, previously known as the Africa School Games, aims to combine sporting excellence with education and cultural exchange.
Founded by Seun Akinbohun, Busola Tejumola, and Aderoju Ope-Ajayi, the rebranding reflects the ambition to create a continental platform for youth development through sport. The event will also provide opportunities for athletes to connect with scouts and educational institutions, potentially leading to international scholarships.
The 2026 edition has garnered support from various organizations, including Prime Atlantic, Zenith Bank, and the Lagos State Government, with improvements made based on lessons from the inaugural edition.
