Pastor Abel Damina Critiques Apostle Arome Osayi's Claims

On October 8, 2026, Pastor Abel Damina addressed his congregation regarding Apostle Arome Osayi's controversial claims of personal encounters with Jesus, which had gone viral. Damina described these claims as doctrinally dangerous and chose to publicly rebuke Arome rather than respond to individual inquiries from his followers.

The controversy centers around a video where Arome recounted a nine-hour flight from Johannesburg during which Jesus allegedly lamented about Nigerian church leaders misusing spiritual investments. Additionally, Arome claimed that Jesus instructed him to send five million to a specific pastor to gain the power to raise the dead and reverse autism.

Damina referenced Matthew 10:5-8, emphasizing that Jesus sent out his disciples to heal without financial transactions. He also pointed out contradictions in Arome's visions regarding angels searching for people with different colored foreheads.

Damina grounded his critique in 2 Corinthians 4, asserting that ministers should focus on Christ rather than personal experiences.
