PDP: Gbenga Hashim loyalists troop out at NEC meeting, rally support for his presidential bid

Supporters of Dr. Gbenga Hashim, a former presidential candidate and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain, gathered at the party's 102nd National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja to rally support for his 2027 presidential bid.

The supporters, including men, women, and youth, displayed banners and sang solidarity songs in colorful attire. Three major support groups, led by prominent figures, voiced their endorsement of Hashim as a credible and unifying presidential candidate.

They urged the PDP leadership to emulate Hashim's leadership qualities and prepare for the upcoming election. Meanwhile, the PDP Governors Forum criticized the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for its strident criticism during a recent meeting in Zamfara State.

The PDP accused the ADC of insensitivity to the state's security challenges and described its members as "prodigal children" for defecting from the party. The Forum commended Zamfara State's efforts to address insecurity.
