PDP Kicks Off 2025 National Convention in Ibadan, Set to Elect New Leadership

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) officially launched its 2025 National Convention in Ibadan at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba. The event, attended by 3,000 delegates including governors, national executive committee members, and stakeholders from all states, will span two days, culminating in the election of a new national working committee, including a national chairman to lead the party into the 2027 general elections.

The convention faced delays due to factional disagreements and legal challenges, with attempts to halt the proceedings. However, the PDP described Ibadan as a city with upgraded infrastructure capable of hosting the historic event.
