PDP Holds Major Rally in Ilorin West to Boost Support

On Saturday, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) organized a mega rally in Ilorin West Local Government Area, Kwara State, to rally support for its candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections. The event was convened by PDP Chairman Mallam Abdulkadir Issa and his executive committee as part of a voter sensitization and mobilization campaign.

The procession began at Omoda Roundabout and traversed several communities, concluding at Oja Oba near the Emir of Ilorin's palace. The rally saw participation from PDP members across 12 political wards, community leaders, and local residents.

Key candidates included Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu for governor, Senator Saliu Mustapha for Kwara Central Senatorial District, and Prof. Abdulfatai Aremu for the House of Representatives. Abdulhammed Tunji and Mallam Alfanla were candidates for the State Assembly.

Tunji expressed gratitude for the turnout, while Issa praised the enthusiastic reception, indicating the party's growing grassroots support. Alhaji Isiaka Babatunde Owolabi attributed the PDP's rising popularity to dissatisfaction with the ruling All Progressives Congress government.
