PDP Reshuffles Convention Team Amid Defections Ahead of 2025 Elections

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has restructured its convention team, naming Ben Obi as the new secretary after Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC). The convention, set for November 15-16, 2025, in Ibadan, Oyo State, aims to prepare for the 2025 elections.

The decision was ratified by the PDP's National Working Committee (NWC) and National Executive Committee (NEC). The move comes amidst a wave of defections from the PDP, including Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa, highlighting the party's efforts to strengthen its position.
