PDP Withdraws Lawsuit Against Nigeria Police Force Amid Court Impartiality Concerns

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) withdrew its lawsuit against the Nigerian Police Force over the alleged blockade of its national secretariat. The withdrawal came after the Federal High Court judge, Justice Joyc Abdulmalik, refused to recuse herself despite concerns of partiality.

The PDP expressed dissatisfaction with the court's handling of the matter and decided to exercise its right to withdraw the suit under the Federal High Court civil procedure rules. The party emphasized the importance of judicial independence and warned against political interference in the justice system, citing the late Supreme Court Justice Niki Tobi.

The PDP did not disclose whether it intends to refile the suit.
