Petrol Price Hits ₦900 in Edo as Dangote Adjusts Rates, Consumers Struggle

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has increased petrol prices in Edo State, with rates soaring to ₦900 per liter from the previous range of ₦739 to ₦795 per liter. The price revision, announced after the festive season, reflects a return to normal market conditions.

The refinery had initially cut prices temporarily to support Nigerians during the holidays. Despite the national average pump price being ₦839 per liter, motorists in Edo State are facing even higher rates at ₦900 per liter.

This price hike adds to the financial burden on Nigerians already grappling with the high cost of living. The sudden spike in petrol prices has left road users and commuters in Benin City expressing dismay over the increased expenses.
