Petrol Prices Surge in Nigeria as Dangote Refinery Maintenance Begins

The Dangote Refinery has initiated maintenance on its key gasoline unit, leading to a rise in petrol prices across Nigeria. The refinery's scheduled turnaround is affecting its gasoline production unit, with maintenance work on the residual fluid catalytic cracker (RFCC) expected to be completed by late January.

The maintenance activities have already impacted petrol prices, with ex-depot prices increasing significantly. Once the maintenance is completed, the refinery aims to expand its crude distillation capacity to become one of the largest in the world.
