Nigerian Petroleum Marketers Support In-country Refining, Oppose Unbridled Fuel Importation

The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) expressed opposition to uncontrolled importation of petroleum products, advocating for a focus on in-country refining to reduce reliance on imports. IPMAN President Abubakar Maigandi highlighted the importance of deepening domestic refining and eradicating fuel importation in Nigeria.

The association praised the recent agreement with Dangote Petroleum Refinery to directly supply petroleum products to IPMAN members, aiming to lower pump prices and ensure steady availability. The partnership between IPMAN and Dangote is seen as a step towards improving the oil and gas sector in Nigeria.
