Nigeria Showcases Military Precision at Benin's Anniversary

Nigeria celebrated the Republic of Benin's 66th Independence Anniversary in Cotonou, emphasizing the strong relationship between the two countries through military and cultural displays. The event took place at the Amazone venue and featured military parades and cultural performances.

The Nigerian contingent, led by Brig. Gen. Ayokunle Olufemi Owolabi, executed a flawless march past, receiving applause from Benin’s President, Romuald Wadagni, and other dignitaries. According to a statement from Maj. Akinola Ajibola, Assistant Director of Army Public Relations at Headquarters 9 Brigade, the contingent's performance showcased exceptional discipline and military precision.

A highlight of the event was the Nigerian Army's silent drill, which captivated the audience with its extraordinary dexterity and synchronization. Attendees included Nigeria’s Ambassador to Benin, Mopelola Adeola-Ibrahim, and other senior military officers and diplomats.

The participation underscored Nigeria's commitment to military diplomacy and regional partnerships in West Africa.
