Plateau Senator Dachungyang Defects to APC Citing Internal Crises in ADP

Plateau State Senator Dachungyang has officially defected from the Action Democratic Party (ADP) to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Dachungyang's defection was announced in a letter read on the Senate floor during plenary by the Senate President, Senator Godswil Akpabio.

In the letter, Dachungyang attributed his decision to irreconcilable differences and prolonged internal crises within the ADP, which hindered his ability to effectively contribute to the party's ideals and deliver quality representation to his constituency. He expressed optimism in the APC's stable and progressive platform, aligning with his commitment to good governance and inclusive development.

Dachungyang emphasized that his move was not taken lightly and followed extensive consultations with key stakeholders in his senatorial district. He formally requested the Senate to recognize his defection in accordance with constitutional provisions.
