Atiku Meets Former PDP Governor to Challenge APC in 2027 Elections

Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku, met with former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, to discuss collaborating on state and national issues, potentially targeting a coalition to challenge President Buhari's APC in the 2027 elections. Atiku, who came second in the 2023 presidential election under the PDP, is seeking to unite opposition leaders like Peter Obi and Rotimi Amaechi.

The coalition recently adopted the African Democratic Congress (ADC) platform. Despite criticisms of the coalition's lack of clarity, Lamido reaffirmed his commitment to the PDP.

Meanwhile, Lamido urged the PDP to resolve internal issues and consider a former president as a potential flagbearer.
