Shina Philips Denies Fund Diversion for Police Conference

Shina Philips, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Lender Consult International, addressed allegations regarding the diversion of funds intended for the Nigeria Police Conference retreat for senior police officers. The claims, published on March 3, 2026, were labeled as false by Philips, who stated that the funds were used to support the capacity-building efforts within the Nigeria Police Force.

The company has been involved in organizing these retreats since 2019, with the first held in Lagos and subsequent events in Uyo, Owerri, and Abeokuta. Philips clarified that no funds were received from the Nigeria Police nor were there any misappropriations.

He highlighted the importance of the conference in transforming the police force and mentioned plans for establishing an annual Nigeria Police Award to recognize outstanding officers. The company has maintained a long-standing relationship with senior police officers and has worked tirelessly to ensure the conference's success, even amidst inadequate sponsorship.
