Police Recover Concealed Pistol in Rivers State Operation

The Rivers State Police Command conducted a routine stop-and-search operation along Azikiwe Road in Port Harcourt, where they discovered a brown pistol concealed inside a loaf of bread. The operation led to the arrest of a male suspect identified as Braya Nana, a resident of New Road, Borikiri, Port Harcourt.

According to ASP Bless Agab, the police spokesperson, the firearm had no visible serial number, raising concerns about its origin and intended use. Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect admitted to purchasing the weapon for N800,000 in Okrika.

The police, led by Commissioner Olugbenga Adepoju, urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities, emphasizing the deceptive methods employed by criminals to evade detection. The police also cautioned against accepting items from unknown sources, as this could inadvertently aid criminal activities.
